Safety is of the utmost importance at Shooters Depot. We offer firearms safety classes at all levels -- from novice to full tactical training -- led by certified instructors and law enforcement personnel.

Introduction to Firearms

This two-hour foundational course provides a comprehensive introduction to firearm safety and responsible ownership. It covers essential topics such as the four primary safety rules, understanding various firearm types and their uses, safe handling and clearing procedures, and an in-depth review of the client's own firearm (if you have one, not required for the course). The class also delves into how to safely store and carry your firearm as well as what ammo to use in different situations. There is also a brief introduction on use-of-force laws, situational awareness, and interacting with law enforcement. The course culminates in dry fire practice and shooting live ammo under one-to-one instruction, all designed to build confidence for new and aspiring gun owners.

Defensive Pistol 1

Building upon the "Introduction to Firearms" course, Defensive Pistol 1 is a two-hour, range-intensive class designed for individuals looking to enhance their practical defensive shooting skills. The curriculum focuses on crucial skills such as accurately engaging targets at various ranges typically encountered in defensive scenarios, reloading your pistol and clearing common firearm malfunctions. This course is specifically tailored to build confidence in beginners who aspire to carry a firearm for personal protection but don’t know where to start. You’ll need 100 rounds of ammo and at least one extra magazine/speedloader.

Defensive Pistol 2

Defensive Pistol 2 is the advanced progression from Defensive Pistol 1, further refining a shooter's capabilities for self-defense. This two-hour course incorporates dynamic and practical skills essential for real-world scenarios such as drawing from a holster, one handed shooting and movement drills. Please understand this is not a beginner course and you must be able to accomplish all the task outlines in Defensive Pistol 1 for entry into Defensive Pistol 2. You’ll need 150 rounds of ammo, a holster and at least one extra magazine/speedloader.

Master your  AR-15

This three-hour, hands-on course taught by a former Navy SEAL and competitive shooter is designed to build your confidence and proficiency with an AR-15 style rifle. It's perfect for both new owners and those looking to refine their existing skills. We'll start in the classroom, thoroughly covering the rifle's function and essential weapons manipulation. Then, we'll head to the range to put those skills into practice. You'll also get insights into worthwhile gear and learn effective strategies for continued at-home training. You’ll need an AR15 style rifle, 150-200 rounds of ammo, and an extra magazine.



Cost: $200 per person

Introduction to Competition

This two-hour course is your essential first step into the world of practical shooting. Taught by a USPSA Master Class shooter, you'll learn the blend of mastering how speed and accuracy combine to determine your performance on the range or at a match. We'll cover crucial techniques for shooting and moving efficiently and safely, and you'll gain a deep understanding of when to prioritize speed versus accuracy to maximize your ability. This class is perfect for anyone looking to try out their first competition or simply just looking to take their foundational skills to the next level. You’ll need a firearm, holster, two magazines with pouches and at least 200 rounds of ammo. Please understand this is not a beginner course, call or email us with questions about eligibility.

With instructors from the highest levels of the Special Operations and competitive shooting worlds, our private firearms training offers an unparalleled learning experience, completely tailored to your individual needs and goals. Whether you're a complete beginner, looking to master a new firearm, or an experienced competitive shooting looking to get M or GM on your next classifier, our expert instructors provide focused, one-on-one guidance in a safe and comfortable environment.
